‘Stay Silent’ comes from London-based rapper and artist Shunaji. There’s a lot going on in this exciting track, with the artist paying tribute to classic trip-hop via the slow key and string accompanying loops, while also hitting us with soulful, jazzy vocals in the chorus. There’s a layer of the avant-garde threading throughout the piece as well, with the merging of genres and electric and acoustic instruments crafting something unique and very exciting. She explains: “While still being consistent with what is to come from my next EP, ‘Stay Silent’ brings a sultry yet eerie edge with its dark halo hovering over it.” We can’t wait to hear the upcoming EP. -Dan Peeke
